The blue-collar belle of the ball must partner with her nemesis, the bad boy of the ballroom, for a shot at the title: National Teen Dance Champion. Not killing each other would be a win.

Amidst the cobblestone streets and small town charm, the world of competitive Ballroom Dancing thrives in all its bedazzled glory. Inside the ballroom however, no sequin is safe as nemeses – Alaina, the underdog, and dance royalty, Xavier – compete for the title: National Teen Dance Champion. Rivals since childhood, their antics have only gotten worse in their angsty teens. Imagine how thrilled they are when they lose their partners and everyone else worth having is already teamed up. It’s either give up, or worse: partner up. Giving up is not an option, since for Alaina that means dog duty at the struggling family kennel, and for Xavier that means disappointing his dance legend of a father, Paulo Ramirez, whose dying wish is to see his son carry on his legacy. So, partner they must. Clearly, they’re going to need professional help. Enter Ukrainian dance legend, Alec Smirvonovich, who lets them tussle through Tango, whip through Waltz, and kick through Quickstep. With his coaching – Alaina and Xavier win the next qualifying tournament to compete for the title in Vegas – and with a kiss, realize they may be getting more than just a dance partner.
