No Alternative is a gritty, dark psychological drama about sacrifice, love and deceit and the desperate journey of one woman. A film that explores economic inadequacies in our government and what the working class face for survival in these hard times. Set in the projects of the borough of Brooklyn, NY, this feature will ask, how far will a mother go to provide for her child? And when there is no one to help, there is no alternative than to take matters into your own hands.
Samantha Donovan's life spins mercilessly out of control and she is left without options, when one unspeakable act of desperation makes her a murderer. Seemingly with no choice, a devoted mother becomes a thief, a liar, and a felon. Her reasons make her human, but the unspeakable accidental death of Monica Fuentes makes her a murderer. Detective Chris Edwards, working Homicide in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, spends countless hours investigating a bizarre homicide linked to a string of strange robberies.
